The Fall 2014 Blitz Build date has been set, so mark your calendars!
We anticipate 300 or more volunteers to help work on the site both Saturday and Sunday again this year. Mark your calendars for October 18th and 19th! Because of our generous donors volunteers, the plan is to again, move two needing families will into homes before Christmas. You have an open invitation to join us if you have not been a part of the Blitz before! Just give us a call at 434.309.2688. Check out our other events for the year.

Donate a car or other vehicle to Altavista Area/Campbell County Habitat for Humanity
Do you have a car, truck, motorcycle, motorhome or boat on a trailer taking up valuable space in your driveway? Car donations support Altavista Area / Campbell County’s Habitat for Humanity local and global mission of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness and save you the time and energy of finding a buyer.
By donating a car to our vehicle donation program, Cars for Homes™, you can help Altavista Area / Campbell County Habitat for Humanity build houses in partnership with families in need of a hand up, not a hand out. Your donated vehicle will help us build the homes that will be going in on 4th Street in Altavista this October 19th and 20th.
It is quick and easy to donate cars, trucks, boats, RV’s, motorcycles, construction equipment and other vehicles running or not! Plus, you may be eligible for a tax deduction. (Consult your tax advisor or the IRS for details.)
Since 1997, Altavista Area / Campbell County Habitat for Humanity has partnered with more than 23 hard-working low income families (including 42 children) in the area to help them realize their dream of home ownership.
Habitat doesn’t give away houses, but instead offers Partner Families the opportunity to earn “sweat equity” building their homes and those of their neighbors. Utilizing volunteer labor and donations, Habitat is able to sell homes to Partner Families at no profit with a zero interest mortgage. In turn, Partner Family mortgage payments feed the Fund for Humanity, allowing us to build even more homes.
Homeowner Christan Riley expresses her gratitude for “those who love humanity” in a moving tribute she wrote about her Habitat for Humanity experience. Please share this video with your friends.
